Lakota Sundance Ceremony

Our family humbly invites your support as we prepare to gather for Sundance ceremony in Trout Lake, held on the sacred and generous land of Mary Morrison.

Rooted in the Lakota tradition, our family’s Sundance carries a name that translates roughly to “There is only one way to live.” For us, this teaching is both simple and profound: to walk in right relationship with Creator, with the Earth, and with one another. It is a call to live with humility, reverence, gratitude, and care.

Sundance is a deeply sacred ceremony of prayer, sacrifice, renewal, and thanksgiving. It is a time when we come together in devotion, offering our prayers not only for ourselves, but for our families, our communities, our ancestors, the land, and the generations yet to come. Through this ceremony, we seek healing, balance, and remembrance of the original ways of living in harmony.

We are profoundly grateful to hold this prayer on the beautiful land in Trout Lake. Mary Morrison’s generosity and stewardship make it possible for our family and wider community to gather in a good, respectful, and sacred way. We give thanks for the land itself, for the waters, the trees, the songs, and for all those whose support helps sustain this important work.

Your donation directly supports the foundation of this ceremony, including preparing and caring for the grounds, feeding the community, supporting the singers, tending to the dancers, and ensuring Sundance can be carried forward with the honor, integrity, and support it deserves.

Every contribution, no matter the size, becomes part of this prayer.

Thank you for helping us uphold this sacred way of life.
